The house or room in which a merchant, trader, or manufacturer keeps his books and transacts business.

• Housebote
  Wood allowed to a tenant for repairing the house and for fuel. This latter is often called firebote. See Bote.

  One who dwells in the same house with another.

  The body of merchants taken collectively; as, the merchantry of a country.
