I have tried dusty but that's nott really descriptive.

The dark-colored boxes were dust-free and in mint condition. Also, pristine condition or like new. They still had that like-new look about them.
You wouldn't really use the word dark to describe the boxes, rather the area around them. A better word for dusty is arenaceous, or sooty.
You could also use words like 'untouched' to imply that things haven't been touched for years.
Here's a sentence which uses untouched, but also implies that the boxes are clean (example sentence).
"The boxes, in fine condition yet untouched for years, resided in the dark attic."
