So basically my novel consists of the following genres:
Urban fantasy
New Adult (somewhat; it's a high school setting but with details that exceed the boundaries of young adult)
Romance (somewhat; I've made a point not to focus the story entirely on it)
My main character is a female, though.
So what should I keep in mind so that my novel appeals to girls as well as guys?

: Get an agent for prescriptive non-fiction before or after completing a manuscript? In the publishing industry, is it usual for authors to have a complete prescriptive non-fiction manuscript before
: What else should I plan? I have started writing a novel. I've done some character questionnaires for my main characters, and I've outlined the plot. I want to do this planning to keep my story

Be careful with stereotypes. While us guys will, for whatever reason, go for the hottest-looking girl around, fictional or not, it may offend most female readers, especially if the stereotypes you apply to the character don't apply to the particular reader (and it rarely will).
