I've been a member for a little over three years and I'm reasonably active here - I generally visit most days.
The, ahem, unfortunate events last year had a serious detrimental effect on the site - at a time when it was just starting to build momentum. I haven't looked at the stats but I get the impression that things are starting to pick back up a bit. Yes we lost some very valuable contributors - but we didn't lose everyone and have gained some new users as well who have been making their own valuable contributions.
It would be a shame to see the site get shuttered when it's just starting to find its' feet again and I believe there's more good to come from the site.
My rationale for being here is the same as it is for the other stacks I frequent - I want to learn and I want to help others.
