Abstraction?

Abstracting complicated social problems to bad influence of media on â€œdisturbed kidsâ€ is basically ignoring the main roots of the problem
and putting the fault on the media.

Other suggestions (apart from oversimplification) are: curtail (curtailing complicated...), restrict (restricting complicated social...)...
