I attended a writers' workshop recently and was amazed at the contempt some participants had towards ebook publishing (such as Amazon KDP) or independent publishing in general.

I suspect many of them would probably never get published in the traditional way, unless they embrace the latest ebook trend.

In my mind, writers should move with time and trends.

Question: Is ebook publishing a viable alternative to traditional publishing?

Note: "Viable" in this context can refer to finance, prestige etc.
